SXSW ECO
SXSW Eco helps to connect business leaders, investors, innovators and designers that want to create economic, environmental and social change. The Purple Fig supports these goals because we hope to positively impact the environment by creating and using our own all-natural cleaners, helping to remove toxic and chemical waste and byproducts. We also endeavor to drive social change by offering our employees fair wages and health insurance.
While SXSW Eco technically occurs on October 5-7, there are a few Eco events occurring this coming week during SXSW that you may want to check out.
SXSW Eco Light Garden
Located at Republic Square Park (442 Guadalupe St), the SXSW Eco Light Garden is open all week from Monday, March 16 – Sunday, March 21. This is an art installation that combines lighting technology and interactive public art. If you need some respite from the crowds, this may be a good place to rest. This piece of interactive art is a SXSW activity that kids can enjoy and partake in. The projects on display this year were created by: Aerosol Warfare Studios, Barco, Crash Alchemy, Charles Gadeken, Gavvot Productions, Houndstooth, Ink Tank Art Collective, Lumenpulse, and Praxis Creatives.
SXSW Eco Meet Up
If you want to get a jumpstart on SXSW Eco, there is a meet up on Sunday, March 15 for SXSW Eco staff and potential participants at the JW Marriott. If you want to submit a panel idea, design a project or apply to launch your startup, this meet up is a great starting point.
Sunday will continue to be a busy day for SXSW Eco, at the Hilton, top investors will present the session “Cleanweb: The New IT Frontier”, the event “SXSW Eco Startup Speed Pitches” will immediately follow the session.
